Xavier Dphrepaulezz is a 51-year-old survivor living his “third rebirth” as Fantastic Negrito, a three-time Grammy winning bluesman making an album about the mental health crisis devastating his family and community in Oakland, CA. Have You Lost Your Mind Yet? follows his creative process, unraveling his personal journey and that of his loved ones as he searches for truth, reconciliation, and ultimately, healing. 
Fantastic Negrito: Have You Lost Your Mind Yet? premiered at the Mill Valley Film Festival to rave reviews and received the Pan-African Film Festival Executives’ Award for Best Documentary. Watch trailer.

LA PEÑA: A FIFTY YEAR LOVE STORY (in production)

La Peña Cultural Center in Berkeley opened its doors in 1975 as a direct response to the military coup in Chile that overthrew the democratically elected socialist government of Dr. Salvador Allende on September 11, 1973. La Peña quickly became the center of the anti-Pinochet dictatorship movement in the United States – a space for community meetings, art activism, and multicultural solidarity. Since then La Peña has become a hub for many diasporic communities promoting social justice and cultural understanding through the arts, education, and community action. On the fiftieth anniversary of the coup, longtime community members reflect on the legacy of La Peña.

Roses Too is an artist-led organization that joins the culture-making labor of artists to the campaign needs of SEIU’s Fight For $15 in order to make the struggle visible, bold, and distributable. Fast-food In Focus is a series of photo and filmmaking workshops for local fast-food workers. This partnership gives workers the tools to create potent imagery of their lived experiences and uplift their struggle against unsafe working conditions, poverty wages, wage theft, and sexual harassment. The project will culminate with a public exhibition of photos and a short documentary. Read more.
